This is one of the reasons the RW nut jobs want to screw up education in the US. They much prefer the story of the civil war to be submerged in a gooey fog of lost cause bafflegab.

Simple facts about slavery, nullification, and Federal supremacy are anathema.

It’s the people making threats who need to see consequences.

Toth concedes that he would welcome a legal fight over his proposals.
“At some point there needs to be a showdown between the states and the federal government over the Supremacy Clause,” he said. The Supremacy Clause is the portion of the Constitution which declares that federal laws and statutes are ‘the supreme law of the land.’
“It is our responsibility to push back when those laws are infringed by King Obama,” Toth said.

What an idiot. These people never seem to stop and listen to the drivel that they emit.

Let them go, cut off all funding and seal the border.

Bad idea. Texas has oil, natural gas, and oil refining facilities that America needs.

re: #9 Dark_Falcon

Texas needs the US way more than we need them. Not like they can sell their products to some other country because that would be un-American… err un-Texan.

I’m also quite sure that the other oil refining areas of Louisiana, Philadelphia, Indiana, Mississippi, Minnesota and California we be MORE than eager to add the jobs and revenue to their economies by taking up the slack.

I’d miss the Johnson Space Center. Other than that we’d be just fine without them. I Don’t buy what Big Oil is selling regarding their importance the nation.
